Sequences are made up of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit, whereas sets are made up of three or four cards of the same rank but different suits. The players are dealt cards at the beginning of the game, and the remaining cards make up the draw pile. The discard pile is started with the top card from the draw pile, face up.
