  • In rummy, the joker is a strong card that can be used as a wild card to substitute any other card in the deck. Because of this, players can more easily form sets and runs with the joker card, which is incredibly valuable. A joker that a player selects from the draw or discard piles can be used right away to form a set or run, or it can be saved for more strategic usage later in the game.
