One of PokerStars' newest ambassadors scored a victory in her own challenge during Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) series currently running on PokerStars North America, and that means some North American players will get a share of $10,000 in prize money.

Caitlin Comeskey, who along with Jason Koon signed on as a PokerStars ambassador in November 2024, won a $20 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo Mystery Bounty event for $1,302. That breaks down to $711 in first-place money and $591 in bounty prizes. More importantly, it means victory for Comeskey in the "Caitlin Challenge."

PokerNewscaught up with the award-winning content creator ahead of the SCOOP series to talk streaming, content creation and becoming the latest PokerStars ambassador.

Comeskey explained the Caitlin Challenge in a March 20 interview, noting that PokerStars would put up $10,000 for US players to win in a drawing if she won an event while streaming.

"So if I win, people get money," she told PokerNews.

It only took a few days for Comeskey to complete the challenge as she won the Turbo Mystery Bounty event after several deep runs in prior events.

"I've been doing pretty well," she said about her recent online results. "I'm not absolutely smashing it, but I am up on the site. I'm a winning PokerStars Pro as of now."

The series of deep runs are all the more impressive considering Comeskey rarely multitables.

"I really cap out at three tables because I am more of an interacting (streamer) and I like to tell stories," Comeskey said. "I like there to be room and energy to engage with my audience."

Treating Streaming Like a Performance

Coming from a theater acting background and known for her universally adored poker sketches, Comeskey said she treats every stream "like a live performance."

"I treat it as if I was going to star on Broadway that night," she said. "This may be a little lame, but that's truly what I do. I work out, I eat right, I do a true vocal warm-up, I meditate or say affirmations or chant."

"Because it's hard to juggle all those balls in the air. I really am trying to play to the best of my ability, and I've had some results in poker and I'm capable of playing really well. So I want to be able to pull it all off at the same time."

After signing on as a PokerStars ambassador last fall, Comeskey relocated from Dallas, Texas, to northern New Jersey — just outside of New York City — where she regularly streams on PokerStars.

"I'm still learning New Jersey transit, but I can access all three airports, which is great for me, because I can still do a lot of traveling to live stops," she said. "I really feel like I work from home now, when before I hardly ever did besides filming the crazy sketch videos around my house."

Comeskey is a fan of 2-7 Single Draw and noted that there is a $100 buy-in event on the SCOOP schedule.

"That's my favorite variant of poker," Comeskey said. "I had to learn how to play it to get into a good cash game when I started my cash grinding career and I fell in love with it right away. It's just such a cool game."

SCOOP is running March 21-April 7 and is available to those in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ontario, Canada.
