After smashing records last November, the PokerStars Women’s Festival is back, this time with a summer twist.

From August 12–17, The Clermont, Charing Cross Hotel in London will host the Women’s Summer Festival, a week of poker designed for women who want to play serious cards in a welcoming, high-energy setting. It’s the follow-up to last year’s Winter Festival at the Hippodrome, which became the largest women’s-only poker event ever held outside of Las Vegas.

If that was the beginning of something special, this summer’s edition is where things get even bigger.

A Packed Schedule with a £100K Main Event

Women’s Winter Festival 2024 Trophy

At the heart of the schedule is the £400 buy-in Main Event, which runs from August 14–17 and carries a £100,000 guarantee. There are three Day 1 flights (including a turbo format) before the field combines for Day 2 and the Final Day. If you’re looking for a major title this summer, this is one to circle.

The action kicks off earlier in the week with a £150 satellite to the High Roller on August 12, followed by the £1,100 High Roller event on August 13. That’s where many of the returning crushers from last November are expected to take their shot.

One of the more unique highlights is the return of the NLH 50/50 Freezeout on August 16, where players must enter as a team made up of one male and one female. It was a surprise hit during the Winter Festival and adds a bit of fun and strategy to the mix.

The full schedule includes a bounty event, live satellites, and a free-entry Closer on August 17, where one lucky player will walk away with an EPT Prague Women’s Package.

Qualify Online or on Site

PokerStars is already running online satellites for the Main Event. Five seats have been guaranteed each week, from the beginning of June, with a Mega Satellite on July 20 awarding five full packages that include seats and expenses.

If you’d rather wait and try your luck on site, there are multiple qualifiers throughout the festival, including a High Roller satellite on August 12 and several Main Event qualifiers leading right up to Day 1C. There’s even a last-chance turbo satellite on the final day of the festival.

What to Expect Off the Felt

PokerStars and the Hippodrome team are once again putting in the work to create an atmosphere where women feel comfortable taking their shot. It’s not just about the cards—there will be tutorials, bootcamps, and plenty of off-table moments to connect with other players, swap stories, and just enjoy the ride.

PokerStars' main goal is to continue giving more women the chance to shine at the tables, and keep building on the momentum that last November helped create.

Kerryjane Craigie, PokerStars Ambassador and Director of Poker at the Hippodrome Casino, is once again leading the charge. She’s been in Vegas this summer supporting Women’s Week at the World Series of Poker, but her sights are firmly set on London this August.

“I’m buzzing with excitement,” she said. “Last year’s event was something truly special, and now we get to do it again, bigger and better.”

Her goal? To reclaim the title of the biggest women’s field outside of the U.S. And she wants you to be part of it.

PREVIOUS:By forcing players to keep track of which cards have been played and which are still in play, they improve their recall skills. According to research, memory-intensive activities can help prevent cognitive decline as people age. For instance, older adults who play card games like rummy on a regular basis tend to have better memory retention & cognitive flexibility than those who don't. When players successfully implement their strategies, the mental acrobatics required for Rummy not only maintain mental acuity but also give them a sense of satisfaction and success.NEXT:The card game rummy, which has enthralled players for centuries, has many health advantages that can improve mental and physical health in addition to being a source of entertainment. Beginning in the early 1800s, rummy has taken on many different forms, such as Indian rummy, gin rummy, and others, each with its own set of rules and tactics. The main goal of the game is to form sets or sequences of cards, which calls for players to use social interaction, memory recall, & strategic thinking. Rummy has become more accessible than ever thanks to its resurgence in online formats, which enable players to connect with friends & family or meet new opponents from around the world as the world grows more digitally connected. Rummy is important for reasons other than just playing; it's a tool for improving mental health and emotional stability. In a time when mental health problems are becoming more prevalent, it is essential to partake in activities that promote social interaction and brain stimulation.
